Bellshill Athletic 1 Petershill FC 1
Saturday 28th November 2009
Bellshill manager Danny Drew made one change to the starting eleven who faced Kirkintilloch Rob Roy last week with Ricky Paterson replacing Chris Cameron in the midfield.

The visitors got off to a flier when McCabe scored in the first minute. Livingstone fouled Keenan on the edge of the penalty area and although Wilson pulled off a fine save from coulters free kick he was helpless as McCabe Rose above the Bellshill defence to head Robertson’s corner high into the net. The Bellshill defence to head Robertson’s corner high into the net. Bellshill almost got the equaliser after four minutes through McKenzie but Heffron cleared his effort with Nugent in the Peasies goal beaten.

Athletic continued to dominate and Gibson’s effort from a Feeney cross struck the post before McKinstry kicked a Crozier effort off the line. Petershill made a stunning start to the second half and Wilson had to be alert to keep out efforts from K McBride and Robertson before a Jordan effort hi the bar. Bellshill weathered the storm and McAnespie was denied an equaliser when Nugent saved his 12 yard drive at the second attempt.

Petershill stopper Jordan was cautioned for hauling down McVittie as the Bellshill man charged forward and he should have seen Red for a similar foul on McKenzie 2 minutes later. Fan favourite Stuart Boyd made his second appearance of the season in the 64th minutes replacing Keiron McAnespie. New signing from Albion Rovers David Fry took over from Bonar McKenzie and David Dimilta replaced Lorn Gibson as Bellshill went in search of an equaliser.

The visitors were defending desperately and Fry, Boyd and Soutar had shots blocked. Petershill had a goal chalked off when Keenan beat Wilson but the striker was clearly yards offside Bellshill deservedly equalised in the 84th minute through Fry who fired the ball high into the net from 15 yards following good play by McVittie and Boyd.

With the clock ticking down an injury time Fry shot struck the top of the bar with the Keeper Beaten.
