Bellshill made three changes to the starting eleven who drew with Petershill for the match against third placed Largs Thistle. Fit again Gary Fleming replaced the unavailable Keiron Mc Anespie with Dimilta and Fry coming in for Feeney and Mc Kenzie.
Bellshill went in search of an early goal and Connick in the home goal saved efforts from Crozier and Fry before David Fry put the visitors ahead in the sixth minute. Gary Fleming beat two defenders and picked out Lorn Gibson at the back post who set up Fry to beat the keeper from 10 yards. Bellshill continued to dominate and Gibson missed a great chance to double their lead but his tame effort was saved by Connick. Largs had the ball in the net in the 30th minute when Monaghan headed a Mc Millan free kick beyond Wilson but he was clearly offside and his effort was disallowed by referee Mulvenney. With half time approaching Largs defender Mullin blocked a goal bound Fleming shot. Bellshill doubled their advantage in the 48th minute through Gary Fleming, who gathered a defence splitting pass from Fry and rounded the keeper to score. Largs made three substitutions as they attempted to reduce the leeway but the Bellshill defence stood firm. Largs midfielder Gault was cautioned for a foul on Fleming and from the free kick Nicky Paterson’s effort flew inches wide of the left hand post. Much to the delight of the visiting support David Dimilta scored a third goal from close range with David Fry again the provider. With four minutes remaining Largs got a consolation goal through a Lappin free kick from the edge of the penalty area. Largs had a couple of efforts on target in a late push held easily by Ian Wilson ensured all three points headed back up the M8 motorway.
