  Bellshill Athletic 3 Irvine Meadow 1 - 5 January 2008
Bellshill Athletic made the trip to Irvine to face the league leaders Meadow in confident mood after recent results lifted them above the relegation zone.

Coulter and Flannery replaced Fabiani and Felvus from last weeks starting eleven.

The visiting fans were in good spirit and their choruses of “We’re going to mow the meadow” brought wry smiles to the faces of the home support.

In the first attack of the game Coulter cleared following a goalmouth scramble. Bellshill soon took control and it came as no surprise when Boyd put them ahead from a terrific defence splitting pass from Flannery in 25 minutes.

Meadow equalised 5 minutes later when Dillon headed home a hopeful Armstrong cross.

This setback spurred Bellshill on and Wardrope in the Meadow goal saved well from Flannery and Boyd. However he had no chance of saving when Jamie McGeoghenan fired a shot high into the net to restore the lead, Flannery again being the provider.
,br> As expected Meadow threw bodies forward in the second half but apart from a Ferox shot which hit the bar on the way over, they never looked like scoring.

Bellshill created and missed a few chances before Dean Muir scored in 82 minutes to seal a fine win.

Bellshill fans were still singing at the final whistle but the smiles had disappeared from the faces of the few Meadows who had stayed to the end.
