The game started at a frantic pace and Bellshill almost took an early lead as a Franchetti shot came back off the post and Shotts defender Lowe cleared the danger. Bellshill continued to push the visitors back but were unable to break the deadlock andthe first half ended goal-less.
Bellshill continued to dominate the after the break and Franchetti came close firing just wide. Banks in the Shotts goal saved well from Felvus and Boyd to keep the scoresheet blank. Bellshill went ahead in 57 minutes when Franchetti finished off a fine move involving Felvus, Loughlan & Muir. The goal gave the visitors a wake up call and they had the Bellshill defence on the back foot. McNab saved well from Scott and Barr efforts as Bellshill fought to hold on to the lead. In a rare breakaway Flannery was through on goal but his touch let him down and the chance was gone. Bellshill held on for another fine win and the deserved three points lifts them further away from the relegation zone. |
