The Bellshill line up showed one change from the side who beat Neilston Juniors the previous week with K. McDonald replacing R. Coulter in defence.
Pollok fielded an unchanged team following last week’s defeat at Meadow Park, Irvine. Bellshill started brightly and Robertson in the visitors goal had to look lively to stop efforts from Felvus and Boyd. Pollok’s only effort in the first 45 minutes was a rasping shot from Waddell which was superbly saved by McNab. McMenemy replaced Muir in the Bellshill line up at the start of the second half Chances were few and far between as both defences were on top of their form. At 77 minute Robertson denied Bellshill as he got down to turn Boyd’s effort behind for a corner. Pollok’s immediate reply saw McNab show his class as he confidently saved McKay’s effort. This was clearly another battling performance from Bellshill. Tam McDonald and his backroom staff are now stamping their mark on this much improved team. Recent displays indicate that happier times are ahead for the team and their support.
