| Neilston Juniors 2 Bellshill Athletic 4 - 8 December 2007 | ||||||
|
Bellshill travelled to a wet and windy Brig o’ Lea seeking their first Super League away win of the season.
The manager made three changes to the side who lost to Beith, Francetti, Boyd and new signing David Nicholls replacing McDonald, Flannery and the suspended Barry Nicholls.
Bellshill started brightly and Boyd went close after being played by Laughlan. Neilston took the lead in 11 minutes after a pass back by Coulter was picked up by McGowan who slotted it past McNab. Another Coulter blunder 3 minutes later gifted a chance to McIlroy but Scott McNab made a fine save from his effort. Bellshill equalised on the half hour mark when Mark Felvus finished off a move involving Loughlan, Nicholls and Boyd that opened up the Neilston defence. Four minutes later Felvus sent Boyd through and he made no mistake as his strike sent the visitors ahead. A fine McNab save from a Sheridan free kick as half time loomed ensured the visitors led at the break. The second half kicked off as the snow fell but the tempo did not and in 49 minutes Felvus fired in a third goal for Bellshill. Following a determined run from mid field four minutes later McGowan scored a second goal for Neilston following a goal mouth scramble. The goal rush continued and McGeoghegan restored the visitors 2 goal lead. This was a good and solid performance from The ‘Hill - let’s hope they carry this form into the rest of the League campaign and climb up the table. |
