| Cumnock started strongly but the home defence coped well with the early pressure. In a rare Bellshill attack from Boyd, Porter in the visitors goal saved a fine effort. Cumnock opened the scoring after 16 minutes when McInally scored from the penalty spot following a foul from McDonald. The first half was dominated by the visitors who were shocked in the 44th minuted when Boyd equalised.
Two early seconds half goals by former Bellshill players Barr and McDonald put Cumnock two up. The setback got Bellshill to up the tempo and for the first time in the game they had the visitors on the back foot. A free kick from Felvus rebounded off the bar and Porter turned a Sichi corner over. Brian Felvus reduced the deficit with a fine header in the 77th minute. Two minutes later Bellshill were reduced to ten men when Kevin McDonald was ordered off for a second bookable offence. There was no further scoring and Cumnock headed home with all three points. |
