  Pollok Juniors 0 Bellshill Athletic 1 - 1st March 2008
Bellshill boss Tam McDonald sent out the same starting eleven who beat Irvine meadow the previous week. Dean Muir returned to the squad after suspension.

Athletic went on the attack from the off and Robertson in the home goal had to look lively to keep out efforts from Boyd and McGeoghegan. Bellshill deservedly took the lead in 9 minutes through Boyd following good play by Felvus.

Pollock upped the tempo but the Bellshill defence coped comfortably. Felvus missed a great opportunity to increase the lead in a head to head with Robertson who saved the effort with his foot. From the resultant corner Ryan cleared Murray‘s powerful header off the line. With half time approaching Pollock’s McKeown struck the post for the 2nd time in an excellent first 45 minutes.

Pollock had the better of the second half but a deflected shot off the post was their best effort. Bellshill's Alan Watson was ordered off in the 70th minute after picking up a second caution for a foul on Ryan.

The 10 men stood tall for the remainder of the game to earn another 3 valuable points. Pollock were left frustrated as attack after attack was turned away and in a few instances that they found the target the magnificent Scott McNabin the Bellshill goal broke their hearts stopping everything thrown at him.

For the second week in a row Jim O’Donnell the former Scotland Junior F.A. manager was a spectator at Bellshill’s game. He should do his successor Keith Burgess a favour and tell him to check out this Athletic side.

There are a few in the team who would not look out of place in a Scotland shirt.
